Following a recent successful visit to the Interpets trade show in Tokyo, Devoted has signed up with a distributor to launch its products to one of the world’s largest markets in July this year.
Devoted’s director Tom Kibble is looking forward to the challenge of promoting the benefits of high meat content, grain-free foods for dogs and cats, as he explained that the Japanese grain-free pet food market is still very much in its infancy.
Tom commented: “The purpose of exhibiting at the show was to gather more information about the Japanese market and to ultimately meet a distributor but we had been advised that it could take a little longer to establish a relationship in Japan than other countries.
“From our initial research we found the market to be quite behind in terms of nutrition which became true as I would say the market is a whole is a lot slower to catch on with grain-free foods.
“Most distributors carry the usual corporate brands with the smaller distributors catching on more quickly about the benefits of higher meat content grain free foods.”
Tom added: “We had interest from all across Asia and have since signed up with a distributor in Japan to launch Devoted In July. We are looking forward to opening up in one of the largest markets in the world.”
The good news is that Devoted will be leading the way in introducing its healthy nutritious grain-free range of biologically-appropriate foods to yet another nation of cats and dogs.
