PetSafe Offers Customers More Choice When It Comes To Training
In a move to give its customers more choice when it comes to bark control and training solutions, PetSafe® has launched a new line in vibration training – the VBC-10 Vibration Bark Control system.
Detailed research by PetSafe and the company’s Veterinary Consultant, David Chamberlain, has culminated in the development of the new system. Prolonged nuisance barking can be distressing for both dogs and their owners and can be one of the reasons cited for placing a dog in a home. The new Vibration Bark Control system provides a training solution to this problem by interrupting a barking dog with a harmless but annoying vibration.
Offering 10 combinations of vibration stimulation, the collar has patented Perfect BarkTM technology ensuring that only the dog’s bark will trigger the stimulation. With Perfect Bark the collar detects both vibration and barking from the dog in order to trigger stimulation – eliminating the risk of false stimulation from environmental noises or another dog’s bark.
David Chamberlain says: “Nuisance barking can be highly stressful for owners and vibration stimulation is one of the gentlest and safest methods of tackling it. With careful training and, when used in conjunction with the instructions, the collar safely reduces and in most cases eliminates nuisance barking; it is suitable for all sizes and breeds and dogs quickly learn the association and stop the unwanted behaviour.”
Angela Critchley, International Marketing Manager for PetSafe adds: “Last year we commissioned extensive research across UK dog homes and the findings overwhelmingly showed that dogs were placed in homes when owners couldn’t control their behaviour. This ‘behaviour’ sometimes included nuisance barking. We also discovered that there is a lack of knowledge amongst the average dog owner with regards to training and the various methods and products that are available to them. At PetSafe we believe in providing our customers with an extensive toolbox of training aids to help with pets’ behavioural problems and vibration stimulation is a highly effective and safe method of training.”
