Wellington boot company, Rudds Wellies, has announced that it has been listed as a finalist in Devon’s Fast Track to Growth programme. Out of over 60 entries. Rudds has made it to the final 15.
The company launched its non-split riding wellies, Riding Rudds, at the end of last year. These wellingtons were created with a rubber chemist and designed by the company’s founder, Rachel Rudd. Not only are Rudds Wellies non-split, they also have tapered soles for stirrup safety, 3M Scotchlite reflective tape to the rear, neoprene linings and adjustable calf widths.
“Our wellies are proving to be really popular with equestrians from all areas,” said Rachel. “We exhibited at HOYS and Your Horse Live and have just returned from our first BETA International, so we’re incredibly confident in the product as it’s been so well received.
“Being listed as a finalist in this programme is also very exciting for us, as a new business, the support the programme provides would be hugely valuable, should we win, but even to be recognised as such a new business is a real plus for us.”
Devon’s Fast Track to Growth programme is backed by Devon County Council. The programme will select one finalist as the winner, following a pitch event at Exeter Innovation Centre, and this company will win £20,000 worth of ongoing business support for the rest of 2017.
Dan Pritchard, Managing Director of Astley Media, which organises Fast Track to Growth, said: “Rudds Wellies really impressed the judges. It’s a great brand with ambitious plans. Fast Track to Growth is all about finding the fast emerging brands in Devon and providing them with a package of business support as they continue on their journey. Congratulations to Rudds Wellies for making the shortlist.”
